Supply Chart-2

Even with layoffs at the start of the year, businesses in the United States are still constantly looking for top cloud talent. This increasing need has led to a lack of workers with the necessary cloud computing skills companies need.

Cloud Computing Salary FAQs

What is the average salary for cloud computing professionals in 2024?

The average Cloud Engineer salary in 2024 for mid-level workers is $136,794 and for senior-level workers is $156,482. These numbers can vary greatly from city to city, with regions in the west like Seattle, San Fransico and Silicon Valley having over 25% higher salaries compared to other cities in North America.

How much did Cloud Engineer Salaries increase in 2023?

Cloud Engineering salaries increased on average by 3.4% year-over-year, which was slightly above the IT industry average of 2% in 2024. 2023's stunted growth appears to be a market adjustment of years past, where a jump in hiring along with a significant lack of tech talent saw double-digit percent salary increases for many roles across tech in 2021 and 2022. Some specific titles and ranges did see bigger jumps than average, as the low end of a Cloud Engineer salary grew 6.8% in the mid-level and 8.3% at the senior level.

Cloud Computing Trends and Expert Advice

"Continuing in importance for companies large and small, demand for qualified cloud computing engineers is still very high. To stand out in such a competitive market, companies need to proactively offer above-market salaries and a great work/life balance."
